Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport
Upon your arrival, you will be welcomed and driven by our company’s representative to the hotel. For early arrivals, embark on birding adventure in the Entebbe Botanical Gardens were you will be rewarded with sightings of various birdlife. Time allowing you will drive to the Uganda wildlife education centre (UWEC) that is known for hosting over 170 species of wild birds. Possible sightings on this tour may include the 5 species of flycatchers which include the Crested shrike flycatcher, Lead colored, Swamp flycatcher, African paradise Red bellied besides the weavers that include the rare Northern Masked Weaver, Black Necked, Golden Backed, Northern Brown Throated, Grosbeak, Baglafect, and raptors such as the Gabar Goshawk, small banded snake Eagle, Shikra, African Goshawk, African Fish Eagle, African Hobby. Transfer for dinner and overnight at Lake Victoria Serena, Travelers inn, Sun Set hotel, or Laico Hotel.
Day 2: Transfer to Kampala
After your breakfast, you will be picked from your hotel and driven to Uganda’s capital city for tour. You will have en route stopovers that will reward you with marvelous sighting attractions; these include the Kigungu landing site, Muzinga square, Zamugula site and the magnificent Bemba cave in Ziika ecotourism forest site. Explore Buganda beginning with a visit to the Kasubi tombs (royal burial ground) you will be welcomed by the descendants of the king’s wives who take care for the site. After your lunch head to the platform where the Buganda Kings are crowned at Nagagalabi Buddo crowning liturgy site. You will thereafter move ahead and visit the Wamala tombs and the Katereke jail trench. Transfer back for dinner and overnight at Sheraton Hotel, Serena Hotel, Golf Course Hotel, Mamba Point or Cassia lodge.
Day 3: Kampala City tour
After Early morning breakfast, move and explore the heart of Kampala. Catch-up with the magnificent ethnographic exhibits and archaeological and natural history displays in the Uganda Museum. Enjoy a visit to the prominent religious buildings in Uganda that include the Bahai Temple the first of it’s kind in Africa, the Martyrs shrines in Namugongo as well as Namirembe cathedral, Rubaga Cathedral and the Kampala Hindu Temple. Dinner and overnight at, your lodge as on day two.
Day 4: Drive to Jinja
You will be picked from your hotel / lodge after your breakfast by our tour guide / driver who will drive you to Eastern Uganda -Jinja. On this journey you will be rewarded with en-route attractions like to the superb flora and fauna that incorporates the Mabird Rainforest (the largest tropical forest in Uganda), Kakira sugarcane and Madhvani tea plantations and also go over the Uganda’s Electricity manufacturing point, the Owen Falls dam. You will move ahead for a great adventure to the Busoga Kingdom with a visit to the Kyabazinga’s palace (King of Busoga Kingdom). Lunch, dinner and overnight at Wild waters lodge, Hotel triangle LTD, Jinja Nile Resort or Gately on Nile.
Day 5: River Nile experience/ Bujagali white water rafting
Have your breakfast and after, embark on the discovery of the source of River Nile. This will compensate you with a tour to the Speke Monument. A boart ride on the wonderful Nile River will reward you with terrific perspectives of the source. After your lunch a tour to the Bujagali falls and also engages in white water rafting. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight at Wild Waters Lodge, Hotel Triangle Ltd, Jinja Nile Resort or Gately on Nile.
Day 6: Transfer to Tororo
After breakfast at the Lodge drive to Tororo district, experience the climbing the Tororo Rock hill where the highest altitude of the knoll is 4865ft. here you will be rewarded with a visit to the ancestral cave and the different Rock paintings. Return back for lunch at Tororo Rock Hotel. After lunch, transfer back to Kampala arriving at in the evening for dinner and overnight at Sheraton Hotel, Serena Hotel, Golf course Hotel, Mamba focus or Cassia lodge.
Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi National Park
Early in the morning after breakfast, leave your hotel and transfer to Bwindi National Park via Masaka-Mbarara to Bwindi National park. Have en route stopover at the Equator at Kayabwe for photographs and informative talk. Proceed for another stopover in Mbarara town for en route Lunch. After lunch continue with the journey to the park- home for amazing mountain gorillas. Dinner and overnight at Mahogany springs lodge, Gorilla mist camp, Wagtail Eco safari camp or Gift of nature lodge.
Day 8: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi National Park
Early in the morning, have breakfast and report for briefing by the UWA officials before setting off to the forest in search for gorillas. There after, enter the forest with experienced guides and start searching for these attracting and humble apes. Tracking may take 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of the gorilla group you opt to track. Meeting gorillas is really memorable experience in human life and you will be given a maximum of one hour chanting, taking photographs of these gentle giants among others. Enjoy them swinging in the trees, feeding, suckling their young ones and so on. You are reminded to go with your packed lunch, water, tracking gears among others. Return to your lodge for relaxing while preparing for the evening visit to the Batwa communities. Enjoy their entertainments, how they are demonstrating their ways of culture among theirs. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at your lodge as on day seven.
Day 9: Transfer to Parc National des Volcano, Rwanda
After an early breakfast, 7:00am head to Volcanoes National Park, North West to Ruhengeri the main settlement base for gorillas. Have lunch en-route and reach the part in the evening hours. Have dinner and Overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge, Mountain gorilla view lodge, Le bambou gorilla lodge or Kinigi Guest House.
Day 10: Gorilla Trekking/ tracking in (PNV) / Evening cultural walk
After an early breakfast, depart to the park headquarters for the briefing on Gorilla trip formalities with packed lunch and trekking gears to enable you trek easily. Set off for the trekking into the bamboo forest in search for the habituated gorilla groups. It’s the most breathtaking and distressing wildlife experience one can have by getting closer to the animals to get a good observation. The huge biodiversity, implausible scenery and extraordinary views also attract tourists. A maximum of one hour will be given to you for critical observation and photography. Return to your lodge for relaxation as preparing for evening cultural walk. In the evening, you may go for cultural walk, where you will be entertained by the Banyarwanda community, or go for nature walk to the lakes and caves. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge, Kinigi guest house, mountain Gorilla view lodge or Le Bombou gorilla (FB)
Day 11: Dian Fossey Hike and transfer to Lake Kivu
In the morning after breakfast, you will go for the hike up to Karisoke research centre, established by Dian Fossey. Learn more about the activities of Dian Fossey of conserving the lives of the mountain gorillas. On return, you will transfer to Lake Kivu. Have dinner and overnight at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel / Stipp Hotel or Paradise Malahide.
Day 12: Transfer to Kigali /city tour
In the morning after breakfast, transfer to Kigali with en-route visit the King’s Palace at Nyanza, Butare Museums and Murambi Genocide Memorial Site. You will arrive in Kigali late toward the evening. After lunch on the way, proceed with the journey to Kigali for a city tour where you will visit different genocide museums, national museum and others. You will have dinner and overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel, Hotel Des mille colline, Manor Hotel or chez Lando Hotel.
Day13: Transfer to Kigali International Airport
Have hearty breakfast, drive to the Airport for your flight back home as it is scheduled.
