African Jungle Adventures welcomes to you for a 12 day / 11 night gorilla adventure. We are specialists in organizing memorable and affordable gorilla safaris in Rwanda and Uganda. This tour package combines Uganda and Rwanda with multi gorilla treks in both countries. Depending on your budget and interests, you go gorilla trekking in Volcaoes National Park in Rwanda, Mgahinga National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable forest in Uganda. Other parks to visit include Queen Elizabeth for wildlife viewing, boat cruise and chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura gorge. Below is the detailed day by day itinerary;
Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On landing in the Airport, you will be picked up by your tour guide/driver Briefing and transfer to Parc National des Volcans. The journey takes you through the excellent terraced hillsides that portray much of Rwanda’s scene, gradually climbing to the base of the stunning volcanoes, with numerous peaks visible on clear days. Continue to Ruhengeri for dinner and overnight. (FB)

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Volcanoes National Park
After morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the Headquarters of Volcanoes National Park for briefing, then enter the forest for Gorilla trekking adventure in Parc National des Volcans. Time taken while looking for these astonishing animals reaches between 2 to 7 hours depending on the movement of the gorilla groups. Therefore, it’s advisable to move with your packed lunch, battled water and tracking equipments. Meeting gorillas is truly a vital experience!! Putting it as a mind that, you are with a few of the last remaining mountain gorillas. For one hour given, watch adults feeding, grooming and resting as the young ones swing from trees in a delightfully playful way. If you get a free evening, have a guided village walk to visit the different local communities that lives around the Volcanoes National Park. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight as on day 1
Day 3: Community Walk / Dian Fossey’s Grave Yard Visit
After early morning Breakfast, you will go for any of the following activities; Drive to Gisenyi, visit Ros Carr’s shelter and Lake Kivu, Climb the Visoke / Muhavura volcanoes, Trek to Dian Fossey’s Tombs and her gorilla Digit. Visit the local school, Tour of the twin lakes Burera and Ruhondo. Dinner and Overnight stay at your lodge as on day two. (FB)
Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking/Transfer to Uganda (Mgahinga)
After breakfast, meet at the park headquarters for briefing, there after you will enter the park for Golden Monkey tracking. Two groups of golden monkeys are open for tracking; Kabatwa at the base of Sabyinyo and Musanga at the base of Karisimbi. Later, have launch at the Lodge and transfer to Uganda.

Day 5: Optional Activities in Mgahinga Gorilla Park – Uganda
After having breakfast, you will choose to go on any of the following activities; Go for Gorilla tracking again in Mgahinga, which can just be done on payment of supplement at time of booking, golden Monkey trekking in Mgahinga, Batwa Trail or Climb the Gahinga Volcano. Have dinner and overnight at your lodge as on day 4. (FB)
Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After Breakfast, head to Bwindi National Park, home to half of the world’s remaining mountain Gorillas and many different primates including red and blue tailed monkeys, colubus and velvet monkeys. The drive goes through the lovely scenery of the Kigezi Region. Later check in your lodge for dinner and overnight. (FB)

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After morning breakfast, report at the headquarters of Bwindi National Park for briefing from the ranger guides. Enter the think forest together with an experience guide for the Gorilla trekking Expedition which begins at 8:00am. The guides will then take you through the bush paving your route through the undergrowth, separating thick creepers, to track the gorillas. It is a great feeling sitting in the thick rainforest around the gorillas, listening to them grumble to each another, and wonder about the sheer size of the dominant male; the silverback. After this great Experience, come back to your hotel for dinner and over as on day 6. (FB)
Day 8: Nature and Cultural Visits
After having morning breakfast, embark on a guided nature walk on the Munyaga River trail which is short walk. This trail leads to three delightful crystal clear waterfalls, and there is an abundance of tree ferns, epiphytic ferns, orchids and Bwindi’s beautiful array of butterflies. Here you might additionally see birds and primates from the forest edge. Come back to the lodge for lunch and unwinding. Later, go for visit to the neighboring communities around the Bwindi forest. Watch a traditional dance and also visit the local traditional healer. Return to the lodge dinner and overnight as on day 6.
Day 9: Queen Elizabeth National Park / Game Drive
Have early morning breakfast at the lodge and then drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will drive through the southern sector of the park known as Ishasha. The area is a remote and wonderful extension of Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is known for tree-climbing lions. Here, you will have a chance to have the spectacular sight of lions draped from the trees, and likewise view Buffalo and other wildlife species. Check in at your lodge in time of launch and if time allows you might have a game drive to view Elephants, warthogs, hippos, waterbucks and others.

Day 10: Game Drive/Launch Cruise
After breakfast, embark on early morning game drive to search out the early risers and predators coming back to their hideouts. You will be prone to meet spotted hyenas, hippos, bushbucks, elephants, stripped jackal, lions, water bucks and leopards. The game seen will depend on the season; the Kasenyi plains are useful for lion and the Mweya peninsula for an assortment of animals. Come back to the lodge for lunch and relax during the heat of the day.
After lunch, you will go for a great launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This 2hours trip passes via possibly the highest concentration of Hippos, bison, elephants and numerous water loving animals may be seen drinking at the water’s edge. The cruise features an excellent platform for photography, bird viewing with over 550 occupant species and game watching. Have dinner and overnight at, your hotel as on day nine.
Day 11: Nature Walk / Chimp Trekking
Today, we will leave for chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge. Experience viewing the delightful chimps squabble and play in fruiting trees. The chimp populace is quite mobile and viewing is erratic however the walk is charming. The forest is home to primates, birdlife and wildlife incorporating red Colobus monkey, black faced vervet monkeys, the L’hoest, blue monkey, grey mangabey, pottos, baboons, bush babies, bison, forest hog and a half dozen antelope species. Come back to the lodge for lunch and later, move for a nature walk in Maramagambo Forest to see different primates and to visit the bat cave and the blue lake. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 12: Departure
Have breakfast and transfer to Kampala, have en-rout stop at the equator for photographing and lunch later proceed to Entebbe international Airport for your flight back home.
