Travel with Family to Uganda and Rwanda
Uganda and Rwanda and internationally famous to host the ONLY remaining population of the endangered mountain gorillas in the world, and these attract many tourists from different parts of the world to see the gorillas in the wild. Rwanda gorilla safaris take place in the bambou forests of Volcanoes National park with 10 gorilla groups, while in Uganda, gorilla tracking is done in the Misty jungles of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Mgahinga National Park. Many visitors prefer traveling with their children on Rwanda – Uganda trips. Although some few fear to come to Africa with their children in fear for malaria (mosquito), Sleeping sickness (tsetse flies) among others. As an experienced tour operator, such cases are minimized in case you travel with us (African Jungle Adventures Limited).
To some parents, travelling helps their children explore new place, view unique animals, birds, beautiful topography, drainage features among others. It should be noted that some wild animals are scaring – so, it is not recommendable to be encountered by infants. However, children above fifteen years are allowed to see them – such animals include Mountain Gorillas, Chimpanzees, and Baboons and so on. To that note therefore, we try to hinder children from seeing them.
How do we treat children on Uganda – Rwanda family safari?
As African Jungle Adventures Limited, our safari guides are well ventilated enabling children to get fresh Air and all children are given window seat for clear viewing.
We always advise elders/ parents to move with snacks for the children to keep them busy and awake. Being awake helps children view important aspects on the way.
Children are strictly booked rooms with nets on each bed – an elder sleep in the same room with the children to ensure each child sleeps under a mosquito net – it is done to prevent mosquito and other insect bites.
When parents go for Gorilla and chimpanzee trekking, children are given sitters to take care of them in the absence of their parents.
We try to avoid long drives and take extra precautions along our bumpy roads – we offer free bottled water, Juice and snacks on the way to tourist destinations.
We try to break the trips for en route viewing like at the Uganda Equator while on the way to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, Ziwa Rhino sanctuary while on the way to Murchison Falls National Park.
We have superb Guide/ driver who are good at selecting good safari vehicles that can not over stress the children.
Family safari with children are handled by guides whom we think have great love for the children – in most cases we choose a parent guide who knows how to handle young children well. This is done to let children feel free and enjoy the safari.
Children below the age of 15 years are restricted from Gorilla trekking and chimpanzee trekking – this is because children may cry or make noise amidst the primates (Gorilla or Chimps) making them upset which can result into fights. Therefore, when elders go for chimpanzee or gorilla trekking, children can go for alternative activities like hike, nature walks, cultural walks, village walks or they can simply rest under the guidance of experienced baby sitters.
Other animals like elephants, lions, Hippos, crocodile among others can be viewed on game drive since they are done in vehicles. Our safari vehicles with pop up enable visitors view wildlife with out leaving their vehicles.
Children travelling with us are given natural juice with is not mixed with preservatives – Africa is a green country endowed with fruits and green vegetation – leave Africa with Vitamins, proteins and so on.
